Military-to-military cooperation in question as political crisis continues in Bangladesh
- Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continues to remain at the Hindon Air Force Station near Delhi, where she landed after fleeing her country. The C130J aircraft that brought her to India has flown out of the base.
- While uncertainty prevails in the neighbouring country, there are apprehensions over the future of the strong military-to-military cooperation that had significantly deepened over the years, especially under Ms. Hasina’s government, as India looked to counter Chinese influence in the neighbourhood, including by supplying military hardware to Dhaka.

Indian Navy Chief Dinesh K Tripathi releases a document highlighting 'vision of Navy for Viksit Bharat'
- Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi released a document titled "CNS Course to Steer-2024 (CTS-2024)", highlighting his vision of the Navy for a Vikshit Bharat.
- According to an Indian Navy spokesperson, the document highlights the key waypoints of CNS's vision of a combat-ready, credible, cohesive and future-ready navy for a Vikshit Bharat. CNS directed the naval community to proceed with dedication and resolve to fulfil the Indian Navy's mandate as India's prime manifestation of maritime power.

IAF's first multi-country air exercise underway in Tamil Nadu's Sulur
- Tarang Shakti, the IAF organised multinational exercise that will see the participation of air force units including from Germany and France got underway and will see a number of advanced fighters and other aircraft taking to the skies as part of the various simulated scenario.
- Simulated scenario, including electronic warfare, would be part of the exercise being held in this western city, about 500 km from Chennai, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said.

US, Australia, Canada, Philippines stage naval and air force maneuvers in disputed South China Sea
- The United States, Australia, Canada and the Philippines held air and naval manoeuvres in a show of force in the disputed South China Sea, where China has increasingly asserted its territorial claims. In an apparent response, China said it conducted air and sea combat patrols on the same day.
- China has long claimed much of the South China Sea, a key global trade and security route, and vowed to defend its territorial interests at all costs. Its claims overlap those of smaller coastal states, including the Philippines and Vietnam, hampering their access to traditional fishing areas and disrupting oil and gas exploration in their internationally recognized exclusive economic zones.

Taiwan's defence budget will hit new record next year
- Taiwan's total defence budget is set to reach a new high of T$647 billion ($19.74 billion) next year as the island seeks to boost defensive self-reliance and cooperation with democratic partners, President Lai Ching-te said recently.
- China, which views democratically governed Taiwan as its own territory, has ramped up military and political pressure over the past few years to assert those claims, which Taipei strongly rejects.
