I am Cadet Ayush Singh Rathore from Rashtriya Military school Bangalore. I belong to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Being from Army Background, I always aspired to join defence forces but it became more stronger when I joined RMS Bangalore. After going through the boarding life for seven years, I got ample opportunities in sports and CCA activities which developed my overall personality. Frequent visits by seniors and officers in uniform turned my flames into fire and motivated me. I was always good in studies therefore could clear my NDA written in First Attempt. My seniors suggested that Georgians defence academy for professional studies is the best place to land for SSB preparation. I along with my other classmates joined GAPS for SSB preparation. The best thing I liked about GAPs is that they never try to impose their thoughts, rather they help us in identifying our strength and weaknesses. They tell us to polish our strength and work on our weakness. Daily lecture and group discussion puffed with current affairs helped me polish my communication and made my speech confident and to the point. Daily feedback given after every activity by KP sir and Deepak sir helped us to correct our mistakes. Individual attention given to every student was the best part in these 15 days. After going back to school, I kept practicing what I learned in those 15 days. Finally, my effort paid off and I was recommended from SSB centre Bhopal in my maiden attempt.

The alternative to hard work is yet to be found. Work hard and leave no stone unturned. At last I would just advice, the moment you enter SSB centre, ball is in your court, Play it wisely.
