Hello everyone,
I am Anuradha Yadav from West Bengal. I completed my engineering at B P Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, where I was actively involved in extra-curricular activities like organizing events and managing teams. I’ve always been outspoken, and while my father encouraged me to pursue Civil Services, I initially lacked clarity about my career path.
Coming from a civilian background, my exposure to the Defence world came during my third year of college, seeing many classmates preparing for defence exams. The idea of joining the forces soon grew on me, and to my surprise, my parents fully supported my decision.
I appeared for the CDS and AFCAT exams in my final year, but didn’t clear them on my first try. After graduation, I worked at BYJU’S Ltd. in Bangalore, but left due to work-life balance issues. In February 2020, I appeared for INET and managed to crack the written exam. However, during my AFSB Gandhinagar attempt on 12th October 2020, I was screened out.
Determined to improve, I came to Delhi and joined Georgians Defence Academy for Professional Studies. There, I finally found the individual attention I needed. The psychology classes clarified the actual process of the SSB tests, while daily practice of PPDT, group discussion, and lecturette boosted my confidence. The three rounds of mock interviews by Deepak Sir, Kunwar Pratap Sir, and Parvinder Sir were especially helpful. Their feedback helped me understand exactly where I needed to focus and improve.
With renewed preparation, I attended my INET SSB on 4th November at Bhopal. This time, I got recommended and cleared my medicals. I’m currently awaiting the merit list and hoping to join the academy soon.
I’m deeply grateful to my mentors for their invaluable guidance. To anyone chasing a goal:
“The universe will start to rearrange itself to make it happen for you.”
