1) Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Inaugurates Kumki Training Centre & Project Hanuman

• The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan inaugurated a Kumki elephant training centre in Chittoor district near Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary.
• He also launched Project Hanuman, aimed at managing human-elephant conflict through trained Kumki elephants, rapid-response teams, elephant tracking, and community awareness programmes.
• The project focuses on reducing crop and life loss in forest-fringe villages.

• IIT Bombay developed India’s first Quantum Diamond Microscope, a major milestone under the National Quantum Mission.

3) India–France Air Forces Begin Exercise GARUDA-25

• Exercise GARUDA-25, the 8th edition of the Indo-French air exercise, has begun at Mont-de-Marsan Air Base, France.
• The Indian Air Force is participating with Su-30MKI fighter jets, IL-78 tankers, and C-17 aircraft.
• The exercise strengthens air combat skills, interoperability, and strategic defence cooperation between the two nations.

4) Singapore Launches the World’s First Green Fuel Levy for Air Travel

• Singapore has introduced the world’s first Green Fuel Levy for departing passengers.
• The revenue will be used to fund Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and reduce the aviation sector’s carbon emissions.
• The levy structure is based on factors like travel class, flight distance, and cargo load, supporting Singapore’s net-zero aviation goals.

5) Belgium & Netherlands to Jointly Host the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup

• The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup will be co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.
