- The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan inaugurated a Kumki elephant training centre in Chittoor district near Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary.
- He also launched Project Hanuman, aimed at managing human-elephant conflict through trained Kumki elephants, rapid-response teams, elephant tracking, and community awareness programmes.
- The project focuses on reducing crop and life loss in forest-fringe villages.
