My Name is Nishchal Yadav, I live in Andheri, Mumbai. I recently got recommended from NSB Visakhapatnam for NDA (Navy). I completed senior secondary education from Kendriya Vidyalaya Bhandup. In school , I had very supportive teachers and friends. Because my school was located in Naval Colony, it brightened up my face as I saw officers and sailors in uniform daily. Along with school, I joined Sea Cadet Corps(SCC) from 6th standard and continued till 10th standard which served as the foundation years of my development by acquiring skills and understanding the importance of discipline.

Due to my interest in such activities(SCC) my parents always supported me. They wanted me to become a doctor as both my parents are from Medical field, but supported my decision of not choosing biology over maths. They also provided me coaching in FIITJEE so that I have a good option to pursue in case I'm not selected for NDA.

In my first attempt of NDA-144, I got screened out. After this I joined Georgians Defence Academy. To much amazement, on the first day itself I was made to speak in front of 20 students. I tried but couldn’t hold my nerve. Days passed by as I practiced and gradually, it became easy for me to speak freely in front of my batchmates. Teachers at the academy gave suggestions in the lecturette and group discussions as to how I can improve my communication and confidence. I got to know about my strong points which boosted me thoroughly.

Preparing with like minded people was very beneficial. It gives you the environment of working seriously towards your goal. Everybody that comes at the academy is so goal-oriented that it makes you work diligently towards your own goal. In the end, I would like to thank Mr. Kunwar Pratap Sir and Mr. Deepak Sir who explained to us everything so clearly that it looked very simple and logical. Topics were explained so nicely that we didn't require to study from any other source.
