My name is Nishchal Yadav, and I live in Andheri, Mumbai. I am thrilled to share that I recently got recommended from NSB Visakhapatnam for NDA (Navy). I completed my senior secondary education from Kendriya Vidyalaya Bhandup, where I was fortunate to have very supportive teachers and friends. Since my school was located in a Naval Colony, I often saw officers and sailors in uniform, which inspired me daily.
Alongside my academics, I joined the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) from 6th to 10th standard. These years laid the foundation of my development, helping me acquire essential skills and instilling the importance of discipline. My interest in the SCC and defence activities was always encouraged by my parents. Though both of them are in the medical field and hoped I would become a doctor, they respected my choice of pursuing mathematics over biology and supported my NDA dream. To keep my options open, they also enrolled me in FIITJEE coaching.
In my first attempt at NDA-144, I was screened out. Determined to improve, I joined Georgians Defence Academy. On the very first day, I was asked to speak in front of 20 students. I tried but couldn’t hold my nerve. However, as days passed and with consistent practice, speaking in front of my batchmates became second nature. The teachers at the academy offered valuable feedback in lecturettes and group discussions, which helped me steadily build my communication skills and confidence. I learned about my strengths, which boosted my self-belief.
Preparing with like-minded, goal-driven aspirants created the perfect environment for focused progress. The dedication and seriousness at the academy motivated me to work even harder. I’m especially grateful to Kunwar Pratap Sir and Deepak Sir, who made complex topics easy to understand. Their explanations were so thorough that additional resources were rarely needed.
In the end, all the hard work paid off. I’m proud to have been recommended for NDA (Navy) at NSB Visakhapatnam. My heartfelt thanks go to my family, mentors, and all those who supported me on this journey.
To all Defence aspirants:
Stay determined, seek the right guidance, and keep believing in yourself—success will follow!
