1) India approves the purchase of Heron Mark-II drones from Israel
The Government of India has approved the acquisition of Heron Mark-II Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) from Israel.
These drones are advanced Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) platforms capable of satellite-communication-based long-range surveillance, reconnaissance, and intelligence gathering.
The procurement aligns with India’s broader strategy to enhance border surveillance, especially along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Line of Control (LoC).
2) Indian Army successfully tests BrahMos supersonic cruise missile
The Indian Army conducted a successful test of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, jointly developed by India and Russia.
The missile has a strike range of around 290–450 km (depending on variant) and is known for its high speed (Mach 2.8 to 3) and pinpoint precision.
This test validates the Army’s capability to carry out precision strikes on strategic targets and strengthens India’s offensive firepower.
3) The 26th Hornbill Festival begins at Kisama Heritage Village in Nagaland
The 26th edition of the Hornbill Festival, known as the Festival of Festivals, has begun at Kisama Heritage Village, Nagaland.
