1. Supreme Court Launches 'One Case One Data' and 'Su-Sahayak' AI Chatbot
Marking a major leap in judicial digitization, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, announced two major tech-driven initiatives in open court on May 11, 2026.
- One Case One Data (OCOD): This initiative integrates the judicial database across all levels—from local taluka and district courts up to the High Courts and the Supreme Court—into a single, unified system. It automates data retrieval, provides a single digital identity for every legal trail, and ensures data integrity to curb systemic delays.
- Su-Sahayak Chatbot: Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in collaboration with the SC Registry, Su-Sahayak (or Su Sahay) is an AI-powered assistant embedded directly on the Supreme Court's official website. It features five primary modules to help citizens easily navigate and access:
- Case Status
- Cause Lists
- Orders and Judgments
- E-Services
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
2. India’s Second Barrier-Free MLFF Toll System Launched in Delhi
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated India’s second Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) barrier-less tolling system on May 11, 2026.
- Location: Installed at the Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on Delhi's Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II).
- How it Works: The system uses integrated FASTag and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera technologies to deduct tolls while vehicles are in motion. This completely eliminates physical barriers and waiting times.
- National Rollout Plan: This is the second such system in India, following the country's first MLFF launch at the Choryasi Toll Plaza in Gujarat (May 1, 2026). The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) intends to scale this up to 17 fee plazas across nine states by September 2026.
3. Tamil Nadu to Form 'Singappen' Task Force for Women's Safety
Immediately after taking office, the newly appointed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced the creation of the "Singappen" (Lioness) Special Task Force dedicated entirely to protecting women in public spaces.
- Core Objective: Operating under prevention and protection strategies, the task force handles visible policing and immediate distress response to build civic confidence.
- Operations: The force is an all-women unit that has already begun rolling out at ground levels (such as in Salem city). It is fully equipped with advanced communication gear, body-worn cameras, and dedicated interceptor vehicles.
- Monitoring Hubs: The force actively monitors sensitive hubs, including crowded bus stands, railway stations, educational institutions, and major IT corridors. If an emergency call hits the police control room (via '100'), it is routed instantly to the nearest Singappen unit for rapid intervention.
