1. Rapido and MoRTH Partner for the RahVeer Scheme
The mobility platform Rapido officially partnered with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to promote the central government's flagship RahVeer (Good Samaritan) Scheme.
- Objective: To boost nationwide road safety awareness and encourage bystanders and citizens to assist road accident victims immediately during the critical "Golden Hour" (the first hour following a serious injury).
- Overcoming Hesitation: The initiative addresses public reluctance to intervene, which often stems from fear of legal issues, police questioning, or hospital complications.
- The Campaign & Record: Over 4 lakh Rapido captains collectively took the digital "RahVeer Pledge" through the platform, securing a Guinness World Record for the initiative.
- Scheme Incentives: Under the RahVeer scheme, individuals who safely transport a victim to the hospital within the golden hour receive a cash reward of ₹25,000 and a Certificate of Appreciation (eligible up to 5 times a year).
2. Adani Ports Secures $70 Million Contract in Argentina
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) expanded its footprint into South America by securing a 10-year marine services contract valued at an estimated investment commitment of $70 million (approx. ₹666 crore).
- The Project: APSEZ's step-down subsidiary, The Adani Harbour International FZCO, won the contract through a 51:49 consortium with Argentina’s Meridian Group via a global competitive bidding process.
- Strategic Scope: The consortium will provide end-to-end marine support—including tugboat operations for LNG carriers, offshore logistics, supply support, and crew transfer services—for the Southern Energy FLNG project in the San Matías Gulf, Río Negro Province.
- Energy Trade Corridors: This development anchors the first operational Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export corridor from Argentina to India. In its first phase, it targets an annual production of 2.45 million tonnes of LNG (~28 cargoes per year), with commercial operations slated to begin in September 2027.
3. Land Port Management System (LPMS) Launched to Reduce Cargo Delays
Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially launched LPMS "VINIMAY", a centralized, state-of-the-art electronic platform designed to completely digitize and unify border operations.
- Nodal Agency: Conceptualized and developed by the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Home Affairs managing 15 operational land ports across borders with Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
- Core Objective: To replace slow, paper-based workflows with end-to-end digital pathways, eliminating unpredictable transit delays and bringing land ports on par with modern airport and seaport digital architectures.
- Key Features:
- Predictive Slot & Dwell Management: Advance slot booking based on real-time checkpost capacity to lower container/vehicle turnaround times.
- Unified Single-Window Payments: Integrated payment gateways for customs duties, warehousing, weighbridge, and terminal charges.
- National Platform Integration: Seamlessly interfaces with ICEGATE (customs), ULIP (Unified Logistics Interface Platform), and national motor vehicle ecosystems to facilitate error-free logistics data tracking.
