1. NASA’s Artemis III Crew Announcement

NASA officially revealed the four-man crew for the Artemis III mission, which is scheduled to launch before the end of 2027. However, there is a major shift in the mission's scope that surprised many:

  • The Crew: The prime crew features Randy Bresnik (Commander), Luca Parmitano (Pilot from the European Space Agency), Andre Douglas (Mission Specialist), and Frank Rubio (Mission Specialist, who holds the US record for the longest single spaceflight).
  • The Mission Change: It is no longer a landing mission. Due to development timelines, NASA modified Artemis III into a high-stakes low Earth orbit test flight. The crew will spend about two weeks in space practicing complex rendezvous and docking maneuvers with test versions of commercial landers from SpaceX (Starship pathfinder) and Blue Origin (Blue Moon). The actual lunar South Pole landing has been pushed to the Artemis IV mission, targeted for 2028.

2. World Yogasana Championship 2026

This one is absolutely true. India absolutely dominated the inaugural World Yogasana Championship, which took place at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad.

  • The Tally: India comfortably topped the standings by crossing the century mark, finishing with 114 medals overall—including an astonishing 102 gold, 9 silver, and 3 bronze.
  • Global Scale: The five-day event featured over 520 athletes representing 79 countries. Japan finished a distant second in the standings (3 gold), and Argentina took third place.

3. China's "NEO" Brain-Computer Chip

While China did make history by granting the world's first commercial license for a surgically implanted brain-computer interface (BCI), it is not associated with Elon Musk's Neuralink.

  • The Real Creators: The chip is called NEO, and it was developed by researchers at Tsinghua University and a Shanghai-based startup called 高度 (Neuracle Technology).
  • Why it Beat Neuralink to Market: Unlike Neuralink's N1 chip, which is highly invasive and pierces directly into the brain's cerebral cortex, China's NEO is "semi-invasive." Its eight sensors rest safely on top of the dura mater (the brain's protective outer membrane). Because it doesn't penetrate delicate brain tissue, it carried far less surgical risk, allowing it to clear regulatory hurdles and enter China's state-run health insurance system while Neuralink remains in clinical trial phases. The current commercial approval specifically targets restoring hand function in paralyzed patients.
