Cabinet Approves Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0
The Union Cabinet approved Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, an expanded phase of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The mission aims to ensure functional household tap connections (FHTCs) for every rural household while focusing on water quality monitoring, sustainability of water sources, and efficient management of rural drinking water infrastructure. It builds on the achievements of the earlier phase launched in 2019 to improve safe drinking water access across rural India.
