1. India and Australia Sign Comprehensive Critical Minerals & Strategic Pacts

During the 3rd Australia-India Annual Leaders' Summit in Melbourne, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese signed a series of high-stakes agreements to secure clean energy supply chains.

  • Critical Minerals Corridor: The two nations officially established a dedicated Critical Minerals Corridor to build resilient, integrated supply chains for processing lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements essential for electric vehicles (EVs), advanced electronics, and defense infrastructure.
  • The Uranium Deal: In a historic development for India's clean energy goals, the two sides finalized the administrative framework for the long-term commercial export of Australian uranium to fuel New Delhi’s domestic civil nuclear power projects.
  • Bilateral Enhancements: Alongside energy pacts, they operationalized the Australia-India Partnership for Cyber Critical Technologies and Supply Chains (AI PACTS) and fast-tracked negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA).

2. Andhra Pradesh CM Launches 'Mee Bhumi–Mee Hakku' Drive

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu officially rolled out the statewide 'Mee Bhumi–Mee Hakku' (My Land–My Right) governance initiative to bring transparency to land ownership.

  • Pattadar Passbooks: The government launched a massive campaign to distribute over 72 lakh high-security Pattadar passbooks across 9,800 plus villages, with a final completion target of March 2027.
  • Anti-Tampering & Blockchain: Moving away from the previous administration's system, the new passbooks feature the official state emblem (Rajamudra) and unique QR codes. The entire database has been migrated using blockchain technology to guarantee full data accuracy and prevent unauthorized record tampering.
  • Legal Relief: The initiative includes the rollout of an automated "auto-mutation" system for hassle-free ancestral property transfers and the systematic exclusion of over 1.37 lakh acres of land from the highly disputed Section 22A category, resolving thousands of legal blockages for local farmers.

3. EPFO Upgrades Core Database Platform to CITES 2.01

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) completed a massive technological migration, officially upgrading its operational framework to the CITES 2.01 (Centralised IT-Enabled System) platform.

  • Unified National Database: Designed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), CITES 2.01 completely overhauls EPFO's legacy architecture by consolidating more than 120 separate, decentralized regional databases into a single, unified national database hosting 340 million member accounts.
  • Jurisdiction-Free Processing: Under the new system, member records are no longer chained to a specific regional office. Any PF office in India can now process any member's service request, drastically lowering manual bureaucratic delays and eliminating employer-centric bottlenecks.
  • Operational Milestones: The upgrade features automated rule-based processing and online query resolutions. It also houses the Centralised Pension Payment System (CPPS), allowing over 78 lakh EPS pensioners to seamlessly draw their pensions from any bank branch nationwide without moving physical Pension Payment Orders (PPOs).

4. UP Launches Cashless Medical Scheme for 1.2 Million Teachers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially launched the marquee healthcare security program from Varanasi, fulfilling a long-standing structural demand from the state's education sector.

  • The Coverage Mandate: Modelled closely on the architecture of the Ayushman Bharat digital grid, the scheme extends cashless medical treatment benefits worth up to ₹5 lakh per year at empanelled government and private hospitals.
  • Massive Network Beneficiaries: The program systematically covers 1.2 million (12 lakh) regular teachers, contractual employees, Shikshamitras, Anudeshaks, and non-teaching staff across basic, secondary, and aided higher education institutions, alongside their dependent family members.
  • Insurance Alliance: To back the massive financial risk, the state government signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide comprehensive social security benefits, including life insurance, disability cover, and accident insurance alongside the cashless health cards.
